Jericho Beach in Vancouver BC
Jericho Beach is far away from the crowds but not too far away from the buzz of Kitsilano and downtown Vancouver.
The natural sandy beach is perfect for barefoot strolls, sand castles and swimming, while the shady parkland around the beach is an ideal location for picnics and barbecues.
Jericho is a relaxed, family oriented beach but if you want work up a sweat there are tennis courts and volleyball nets in the park and windsurf and skim board rentals available from an outlet inside the Jericho Sailing School at the western tip of the beach. Although it’s only a 20-minute drive from downtown Vancouver it is quieter than both English Bay and Kitsilano beach.
Find your perfect beach log, put down a blanket and enjoy some great views of the North Shore Mountains during the day and life-affirming sunsets at dusk.
Hours: Open all year round.
Directions & map: The beach is situated between western reaches of Kitsilano and Pacific Spirit Regional Park. Buses going to the University of British Columbia stop nearby.
